About Veronica Thomas

Growing up in South Africa, and later moving to America, Veronica Thomas draws on her experiences, influences, and personal understanding from both cultures to create her own expression in art. In Africa, her love for art and nature was born; in America her dreams are being realized. Her desire is to inspire through art and to invite others on this journey of discovery.

​

Formerly trained as an Interior Designer, she developed her basic foundation of balance, form, color, and knowledge of perspective. Veronica is pursuing a full time career as a professional artist who paints in oils. She is learning visual expression through the language of art, and to see with the eyes of an artist. At the same time, she enjoys developing her ability to see the beauty of color and light in everyday things.

 Her art is best described as “passionate realism”, using color and brushstrokes to convey a visual message describing her mood and the love of all things.

 

  Veronica enjoys exploring numerous varieties of subject matter, doing figurative work, still lives, as well as the challenging “plein-air” painting.She draws inspiration from fellow artists and the “master painters” of today.

 

 

 Through her artwork, she hopes that for a brief moment, viewers can escape the harshness of this world by experiencing beauty and joy in visual imagery

 

For Veronica, art is an ongoing process of learning and growing as an individual. She is excited about the journey she is on, striving to convey grace, elegance, quality, and beauty.

 Veronica is currently a member of the Oil Painters association of America, Southern Oregon Society of Artists, the Umpqua Valley Arts Association in Roseburg and The Grand View Art Society.
